Cannot find Expenditure Type as an available resource when modifying Budget on Award

Summary:

We have created a new Expenditure Type and we are trying to add it to an existing Budget on an Award. When we select Manage Assignments for Selected Tasks and search for the Expenditure Type under Available Resources, nothing appears. We have to manually add the Expenditure type to Available Resources by clicking the 'Select and Add' button on the right side of the Available Resources. See screenshot.

Is there a setup that will add the Expenditure Type as a LOV under Available Resources so we don't have to manually add it?
