Default value set in Visual Builder Studio does not appear

I'm editing the page "Hire An Employee" in core HR using VBS.

I set as a default value on the field Manager Type the static value: "Line manager" as indicated by the documentation here.

I published these changes but I'm not able to see the expected result nor in the preview nor in the actual page. Are there other steps I need to consider to set a default value?

This is what I did on VBS:

*(Tipo manager (IT)= Manager type (EN))
