EPM Books Extension performance issue

We have a report Book with 10 Reports, which has close to 15 tabs output when rendered.

When the user tried EPM Books extension in SmartView. Each time they want to see an updated data and refresh the Book in Excel, it take alot of time to render and sometimes doesnot even show up.

Is this expected performance for EPM Books Extension?
