View actual labor overhead charged before work order is closed

Summary:

Hello, I have a customer in a standard costing environment that is using labor overhead rates at the work center to capture overhead as time is charged to the work center/resource. The customer is not seeing the overhead absorption applied for the actual resource transaction quantity, it is only being applied for the standard labor value. Furthermore, this amount is not being absorbed into WIP, it is only seen once the work order has been closed.

Question 1: Is labor overhead absorption based on actual resource time charged, or only by using the standard on the work definition?

Question 2: Can the labor overhead absorption be seen at any time prior to the closing of the work order? Work orders can be open for many months in this production environment.
