REMINDER: ADB OCPU billing metric has been retired and replaced by the ECPU billing metric

edited Jan 10, 2025 3:07PM in Autonomous Database

REMINDER:

The Autonomous Database OCPU billing metric has been retired and replaced by the ECPU billing metric. OCPUs will no longer be available for new databases starting March 4th, 2025.

OVERVIEW:

Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB) introduced the new ECPU billing metric in January 2024. Along with the introduction of the new ECPU metric, Oracle announced the retirement of the legacy OCPU billing metric for Autonomous Data Warehouse and Autonomous Transaction Processing.

This post is a quick reminder that you will no longer be able to provision or clone new Autonomous Data Warehouse and Autonomous Transaction Processing databases on the OCPU billing metric starting March 4th, 2025. We recommend switching from using the OCPU billing metric to the ECPU billing metric as soon as possible; this will not incur any downtime or service interruption.

Howdy, Stranger!
