Reflect the custom field in contract BPM

We would like to use the custom fields to drive the contract approval process

We define quite a number of custom fields for contract using application composer. But I am not able to find this custom fields in contract BPM. Am I missing anything or process that I need to run in order to reflect this information in contract BPM
