How to default DFF based on KFF dynamically?

Summary:

We need to default the acquisition code (DFF) based on one of the segment values of the depreciation expense account (KFF) on the add asset page.
To achieve this, we need to dynamically read the Key Flexfield (KFF) segment value.

We attempted the Initial Default option using SQL on the valueset, but bind parameters could not access the values. We also tried customizing the DFF field using Page Composer, but it was not editable.
