Overlap Time entries in Time and Labor (Webclock Usage)

edited Feb 26, 2025 9:21AM in Workforce Management 1 comment

Hello HCM Community - I have a question on overlapping time entries.

An employee submits a 'Request Time Changes' for the payroll time type 'Regular Pay.' These submitted request time entries flow through Web Clock and appear under Time Events and Time Entries in the 'Request Time Changes' section. Once the request is approved, the Web Clock button still appears, allowing the employee to perform Clock IN/OUT actions during the same time frame as the approved change request which had original punches from web clock.

Example: An employee clocks in at 8:00 AM and clocks out at 1:00 PM. After running the 'Generate Timecards from Time Collection Devices' process, time entries are created. The Web Clock is configured with 'Restart Sequence after Last Button'. However, in this scenario, it seems like employee accesses the Web Clock around 10:00 AM, they see the Clock IN button available, employee assume they forgot to punch and proceed to clock in again at 10:00 AM. This action creates an overlap, leading to payroll discrepancies. Additionally, time change requests overlap with web clock punches which looks like Out of Box,

Howdy, Stranger!
