ATO Model Attribute Match Configuration Functionality in Cloud

For an ATO Model, there is an attribute available in PIM called "Match Configuration". This attribute has particular value called "User- defined match". I would like to know what is the downstream functionality for this value of the attribute? Is this equivalent to the "Custom Match" functionality available in Oracle EBS where it allows us to write our own rules in determining how and the Configuration Item should be generated? If yes, please help to share any possible documentation on where exactly should such user- defined logic be written in Fusion for ATO Configuration Items Matching.
