System Config and BOM Mapping Adoption

Summary:

We would like to start using System Configs to bundle different products, but our current configurations are still using the old Recommended Item Rules. Was wondering if someone can give any insight into what it takes to convert your current models so that they can be used in System Configs. Is it just moving away from recommended item rules to BOM Mapping rules or there is more to it?
