Validation rule is not working in SmartView

Hi,
In our EPM Cloud environment we are working with Validation rules when the input cells are not filled in.
In the screenshot attached you can see the setup of the validation rule that is supposed to turn the cells in red when the cell is empty.
However, as you can see in the second screenshot, the cells are in red in the website but not in SmartView (Excel extention). Is that a known issue in this community? In order environments the rule is working.
