Changing existing USD Currency Extended Precision of 5 to support 6 decimals in live environment

Summary:

We are live with Oracle Financials and the USD Currency is set up with an Extended Precision of 5 and a Standard Precision of 2. Will be live with initial phase of SCM solution next month.

There is a requirement to support 6 decimal unit prices, post the initial go-live for the below:

1) Quotes being interfaced to Oracle Order Management as Orders/ Sales Agreements as contracts with prices/charges.

2) EDI Orders coming in to Oracle

3) Manual Orders that could be created in Order Management.

4) Invoices for the above Orders

Oracle Financials support team has responded to SR (4-0000311896) we filed, indicating that modifying the Extended Precision from 5 to 6 to handle this requirement might result in data corruption with open transactions.

Howdy, Stranger!
