Is there a way to search by contract header PO number in contracts module?

Summary: Our projects team often gets asked questions about contracts related to a certain PO which is stored on the contract header. They are asking for a customization in order to search by the PO number instead of the contract number or other detail. In looking to add the field, this is not an option. Is there any way to accommodate this?
