Can you load data to an account with a member formula

Summary: We have an account where data is loaded for one scenario but it needs to be a formula for another scenario. We are seeing that when we add the formula, it clears the data that has been loaded and turns the cell grey to not allow input any further. The account data storage type is Stored. We have seen this available in on-prem Essbase. Can someone verify if this is not available for the cloud?
