OLC | Issue with automatic withdrawal on course registration

Dear All,

I am reaching out to seek clarification regarding an unexpected behavior.

We have a scenario where certain courses require that the learner is enrolled with "Mandatory" registration, in order to prevent learners from withdrawing or modifying their enrollment. The course-level enrollment on the other hand, is set to "Voluntary Learning." After a learner is enrolled for the mandatory edition, the system withdraws automatically their initial registration at the course level (set to "Voluntary Learning") and replaces it with a new "Mandatory" assignment for the course.

We were not previously aware of this behavior and would like to know:
