How to follow best practices into VBCS Application Development - Business Objects/Service Connection

Summary:

Hi Team,

We are working on custom VBCS application development and currently using business objects based on tables defined in the custom schema of the ATP database. However, we are facing lots of issues when we modify table design. E.g., Adding new columns, Modifying data type or size of columns, etc.

Can anyone please suggest—what is the best practice we can follow during custom VBCS application development? Currently, we are using business objects based on tables, which are defined in the custom schema of the ATP database. We also know that we can use service connections but haven't used them because of the large amount of data.
