How are the catalog contents of a topic community sorted in the Learning Catalog page

Hello experts,

I'm trying to understand how the catalogs or communities are sorted per topic community as seen in the new Learning Catalog page.
From what I understand, the order of the topic communities inside a category community is alphabetical (in red), and this is not currently customizable.

How about the items inside the topic community (in green)? The sorting does not coincide with the sorting in the Communities admin page

Since the sorting does not match, is there a way for me to sort the items in both the admin page and self-service? If not, can someone explain the logic behind the sorting currently used in both pages. Thank you!
