Getting different values from GET_ABSENCE_COUNTS when submitting from classic vs REDWOOD

We have built a validation formula for when the user submit their absence request it validates that doesn't go over their entitlement.

We are using GET_ABSENCE_COUNTS to obtain existing absences that are submitted and approved.

The challenge we are seeing now is that when we submit the absence request from the classic view as an administrator, GET_ABSENCE_COUNTS DOES NOT considers the absence submitted as part of the count it returns.
