Closing work order without completion

What happens when components are issued to a MFG work order but the work order is closed without completing it? My dilemma is - since the components have already been issued, it means they are lying on the shop floor, but then the work order is closed directly without completing, it means the FG is not produced. In such a case, will the components lying on the shop floor create a WIP balance? Will this increase the WIP valuation? How will WIP valuation become zero for this work order?
