HDL for removing direct reports as the cancel work relationship is failing as the person had direct

Summary:

In the current engagement that I am working there's an integration that runs to cancel the Work relationship of employees who got terminated in that past that is before 7 years or more.

For the employees who were terminated as Manager is failing while cancelling its work relationship.

Requirement:

1.) Need HDL to remove the direct reports of the employee in the past.

2.) If there's any alternate route for cancelling the WR of terminated Managers.

3.) Is it fine to remove the Manager's WR as there could be some active employees who were having this manager in the history. Now removing the Managers WR, wouldn't it impact the respective active employee?
