Is there a limit to the amount of Job Functions we can use?

We need help with our over 800 job functions (the level below job families). What we have observed up to now is that search returns 500 job functions, not the full list. We don't know if this situation is a setting that was imposed by our implementation partner, or if this issue is a system limitation regardless and we need to reorganize somehow.
