Do Custom properties export to target applications?

Summary:

We are creating a new Custom property in our Dev environment to test out.  We would like to get guidance/ confirmation on:

Will this property be included in our export to the target application? Is there a way to confirm it will not? If we wanted it to be exported to the Target application, what would we need to do?

We created the property by going to Information Model -> Properties and created a property using the Template Custom.String Template.
