Is anyone using journeys for the lifecycle of an employees sick absence?

Summary:

Currently Managers create / close sick absences for an employee . However, around 35% forget to close the absence when the employee returns.

Whilst alerts could be created to support the actions required off an open sick absence, I am looking to explore whether anyone is already using a journey to support policy actions during the lifecycle of the absence.

Could a Journey be generated once a sick absence has been created, initially if the absence remains open after an agreed number of days - with links to policy and a check list of actions to be completed, such as:-
