Shipment Updates Audit

Summary:

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we could track the number of changes/updates were made to a Shipment by the 'User'? The thought here is that we want to store the number of changes to a shipment when that change (whatever change) is made by a user (not by integration or agent) to help track user engagement.

Could this be done with log files, that could then be exported or integrated into an external database for visualization? Or could this be more easily done using a refnum on the shipment being driven by an agent doing a count? Looking for ideas and suggestions. Thank you!
