Workday definition for midnight shift

Hi Team,

We need to refine our workday definition dynamically to accurately handle employee shift punches across midnight. We have a scenario with two shift types within same week:

  • Shift 1: 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM
  • Shift 2: 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM

The challenge arises when employees on Shift 2 punch in 10-15 minutes early. Currently, using a 'start date' workday definition, both shifts are grouped under the same day, which is correct for Shift 1 but incorrect for Shift 2. We need Shift 2 to be grouped under the actual shift start date (Not the date when the employee punched in) or "End date" for workday definition.

We need a dynamic workday definition that can accommodate both scenarios. How can we achieve this?

Howdy, Stranger!
