Storage volumes : boot volume and additional storage

Summary:

I have created a pool with a 100GB storage setting in Linux8, the base image has a boot volume of 50GB. I have a couple of questions.

The docs don't explain how the additional 100GB volume is presented to the VM, how is it presented ?

If the user does not have admin permissions, how do they mount it ?

Is there a way that we can prevent users from writing to the boot volume ?
