Error When Changing Employee Start Date: "Assignment Department Isn't Valid"

Hello,​

I'm encountering an issue when attempting to modify an employee's start date via the Employment Start Dates section. Upon submitting the change, I receive the following error:​

"Couldn't change start date. Assignment department isn't valid on [new start date]."​

I've verified that the department's start date precedes the new start date, so it should be valid.

Could you please advise on the cause of this error and how to resolve it?​
