What does Type column refer to in the agreement change history

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

We have a column called "Type" in the agreement change history screen which shows values Internal or External. What does this mean? I see even those changes initiated by Buyer showing as "External"

I don't think "External" mean that the changes are done via FBDI/VBCS as I see change order # 2 performed by Supplier via supplier portal marked as External.
