Is there a way to consolidate from a point forward after adding an entity alternate hierarchy?

Summary:

Is there a way to not have to unlock prior periods to avoid the consolidation error when adding an alternate hierarchy when ownership management is not enabled? We added the alternate hierarchy and were instructed to unlock all periods from the inception of the application and also start all periods in manage approvals (back to 2016). When the consolidation is run for the older years, the data is changing. We would like the alternate hierarchy to reflect 2025 forward. Thank you.
