remove restricted characters within data integration for attributes

Current data integration Edit Source Expression functionality is limited with regards to Restricted Character handling

Only one replace action per attribute can be performed. I would like to see the ability to do multiple or have a specific check box or flag that would automatically remove restricted characters or reserved words. We are loading material description from a flat file and do not want to have to deal with rejects and failures. Is there a way to do this without a business rule?
