Metadata Integration/sync Fusion ERP to EDMCS

Summary:

In essence, we are looking for the best (most simple) way to transfer our newly created segments from ERP to EDMCS.
For this we are currently working with EPMAutomate via AWS Virtual Machine and looking to change this process to Oracle Integration Cloud.

Process: download file from ERP each day, upload to EDMCS with a "merge".

Is a middleware needed for this automated process? Can we leverage OOTB solutions?
Is it possible to create a connection to FUSION ERP to see (real time) the masterdata?

I am new to EDMCS.

Any help would be appreciated!
