How does the Quote import integration from Salesforce work in the Managed Package?

What we are trying to do is to import data from the Salesforce Oracle Quote Line Item object to the item grid in the quote in CPQ. We are looking to modify the xsl files used for the Quote Import to be able to grab the attribute data from the line item(s) in Salesforce and update the attribute in the LIG in CPQ. Is this possible? We are looking to understand how the Quote Import integration work which may help with the Quote Line Items if that is possible. We are getting a session error
