Need guidance task manager rules (few issues too)

I am looking into it for the below use cases and appreciate any help/guidance related to Task Manager rules
- "Task Rule" at the template doesn't show up when the schedule is created. We are using the "Send Email on Update". We had to set the "Task Rule" at "Task Type" (Run consolidation) level before the schedule is created. "Task Rule" created at template level shows when a schedule is created only for the "End User" tasks. Any thoughts?
- Are attributes allowed in the email subject / body as part of "Send Email on Update" in the task rule?
