Allocation Method Order

Summary:

I'm trying to understand the ordering WMS uses based on these conditions:

We have the allocation method set on the wave template set to Location sequence ascending. The individual allocation modes are blank for both allocation method and secondary allocation method.

If there are two records in the same active location with differing expiry dates (therefore location sequence is the same), what record does WMS choose to allocate? Is it newer expiry or just random?

Our warehouse is saying it does not default to the newer expiry. I intend to update the individual allocation rows but I just want to explain the current behavior if possible.
