Dear Community,

I am writing to inquire about the possibility of predefining task numbers within Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM) to prevent the manual addition of random or inconsistent task identifiers.

In our current setup, we have encountered instances where multiple variations of task numbers are being used for similar tasks across projects. For example, task numbers such as "WH PM," "WHPM,""WHPM - 100314," "WHPM 100314," and "WH-US PM" are being created, leading to inconsistencies and potential confusion in project tracking and reporting.

To enhance our project management processes and maintain consistency, we are interested in exploring whether Oracle PPM offers functionality to predefine or restrict task numbers to a specific format or set of numbers. This would help ensure uniformity and accuracy across our projects.
