Help with Ratio-Based Regular Excess Hours Calculation in Oracle Time and Labor

Summary:

Hi Team,

We are currently working on a requirement in Oracle Time and Labor where employees enter time against multiple projects in a single day. Our standard configuration includes an 8-hour daily threshold, beyond which the time is categorized as Regular Excess (non-costed from a project perspective).

Current Behavior:

• If an employee enters more than 8 hours in a day, the excess hours are marked as Regular Excess regardless of the number of projects.

New Requirement:

• When multiple projects are entered on the same day, the excess hours should be distributed proportionally (ratio-based) across the projects.
  For example:
  • If Project1 = 6 hrs, Project2 = 4 hrs → Total = 10 hrs → Excess = 2 hrs.
