security role validation

We have two instances presently test and a dev instance, the dev instance was recently refreshed. So we are now configuring the data to de instance , now we want to check if all the security roles have been moved correctly. But we have a lot of roles and dont really knwo how many , how do i validate each roles ? do we get to take the dump of all the roles present in the instance and then compare them?
