How to skip a task based on condition in a Payroll flow pattern

edited May 13, 2025 12:42PM in HCM Extract

Summary:

There are 2 task defined for one payroll flow pattern.
First task is submitting Extract, second is Extract Data Chunking Task.

If extract (Task-1) returns records - the Extract Data Chunking (task-2) is working as expected.
And when extract (Task-1) returns 0 records - Extract Data Chunking (task-2) is in critical alerts status.

Below is the error from ESS log
javax.xml.stream.XMLStreamException: No open start element, when trying to write end element

Is there any way to add the condition like when Extract(task-1) return 0 records then skip the Extract Data chunking (Task-2)
