Must DFF API names start with a capital letter for use in Pricing service mappings and algorithms?

edited May 15, 2025 8:47AM in Pricing 5 comments

Summary:

Is it mandatory for the API name of a DFF segment to start with a capital letter in order for it to be used in Pricing Service mappings and algorithms? If so, could you please confirm the reasoning or technical limitation behind this requirement?"

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

We have a Customer Account Site DFF segment – Price Code – which is already in use in Prod. It holds a specific price code (ranging from 1 to 6) at each site. There's a requirement to derive the pricing strategy for an order using the value from this segment.

While reviewing similar requirement queries on Customer Connect, we came across Oracle Doc ID 2270317.1. The document addresses a similar use case and mentions: "Ensure that the Name starts with a Capital Letter and is the same as the API Name entered during segment creation." We would like to confirm: is this statement specific to the example in the document, or is it a general rule?
