Purchase Order Email Notification not working as expected

Posting the question based on feedback from SR - 4-0000665238

While trying to customize the Purchase Order Email Notification report, we added a new custom layout which was working as expected. However, when we try to update the custom layout with new versions, the system is picking older layout which is not available / removed from the system. Even while removing / deleting the custom layout completely and using the seeded layout, the system is still picking the non-existent layout. Can you let us know the solution to handle this error?
