Second hand parts to be considered as supply to replenish DCs and Store

Would like to inquire if in Replenishment Planning, if the consumption for universal "Z" items can be combined with the associated second hand component which typically ends with an "S" or a "Q". For example, 2999672Z has a second hand qualified version of 2999672Q. Would like to see if the consumption for these parts can be combined in the demand plan.
Railcar parts that come off a railcar could become secondhand material that could then be installed on another railcar once qualified. These secondhand railcar parts are placed into inventory at the Factory or Store inventory organizations with the suffix "S". We are looking to be able to include this supply of secondhand material in our planning and distribution of railcar parts. Using secondhand instead of using reconditioned or new costs us less in railcar parts and the handling of the core (shipping the core back to the Reconditioner to be reconditioned).
