How to Clear Inventory Valuation After Asset Item is Linked to Fixed Asset in Oracle?

edited May 27, 2025 9:03AM in Assets 1 comment

Summary:

We have a scenario where an inventory item is received and subsequently declared as an asset item. This item is then linked with a fixed asset in Oracle.
Could you please advise on the correct process to knock off or clear the inventory valuation for this item, now that it has been capitalized as a fixed asset?
Specifically, I am looking for the recommended accounting entries or Oracle processes to ensure inventory is not overstated after the asset is created.

Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated.
