Grade and Proposed Grade

Summary:

I have a Validation Business rule for Promotion Redwood Transaction.

I need to check Grade and Proposed Grade Combination.

I have used this code

$fields.employmentAssignments.GradeId.$numberValue() !== $fields.employmentAssignments.GradeId.$initialNumberValue())

However this code not working.
