How to create project based requisition for a project in different ledger

Summary:

We have a requirement to create a requisition in UK Business unit (i.e. UK Ledger) but charge the expense to a project belonging to US Business Unit (i.e. is in US ledger).
How can this be achieved? If this is not possible, is there a workaround that can be used to ensure cost is charged to the correct Project in US Ledger within the bounds of P2P process.
