Parent/Guest Accounts in OCI

Summary:

I have a couple questions about security for parent/guest accounts in the Student Portal once we move to OCI. (For context, we use local accounts for parents/guests, and in the Guest Mode Authentication we will NOT enable External IDP Authentication. I understand that parent accounts will not be created in OCI until we have moved our environment to Migrated mode.)

When a student creates the parent account in their profile, they select the security role(s) to be assigned to the parent. In our environment there are two roles – one for parent access to update the FAFSA and one for a guest to have view-only access. How will this change when users are managed in OCI? Will students be selecting Groups instead of Roles in the Student Portal? If the student updates the Groups associated with a parent account via the portal, will that change be automatically reflected on the OCI user?
