Summary: Counting of materials at field based inventory locations

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information): We are looking for best practices used in medical industry for counting of inventory at field based locations. Field based locations are hospitals etc. where small quantity of on-hand is stored for direct consumption but the ownership of inventory is still with our client. We have mapped these field based locations as different inventory org in Oracle called 'Consigned inventory org' and the sub inventories under this are various locations of the hospital.

While counting materials in these locations, we are looking for the best practices on whether to use physical counting or cycle counting. If anyone has worked on similar requirement, any inputs would be appreciated
