Transforming grade data during transfer (advanced expressions)

I am struggling with re-building our ACRs into business rules, specifically our grade transformation logic during transfers.

Our transfer works as following:

  • Old location- #108, wage group 1 (location DFF)
  • New location- #154, wage group 11 (location DFF)
  • Old grade - L1W1
  • New grade - L1W11

We are looking to create a business rule that can perform this sort of transformation on the employee's grade based on the Wage Group (DFF) on Location.

Would an advanced expression be needed for this? Could someone help me get started as to what tools should be used in advanced expressions?

Also these grades do not show as options in the LOV for the grade attribute, so I cannot default anything.
