Inline search DFF behavior on PO Lines

Summary:

Why is the DFF prompt text (in our case "TAKO") displayed both as the column header and on row level, when configuring the field to inline search?

The row level-text causes the actual dropdown field to be very narrow, making the selection more difficult. The end user can make the column wider but this is a change they likely need to do each time when opening a PO. Is there a workaround available to hide the row-level prompt text?

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

Our company uses two-level item code structure, where the 1st level is in the native item field and the 2nd level is in a PO Line DFF called "TAKO". These are connected using the item cross-reference feature. When managing PO Lines, the 2nd level item appears as an inline search dropdown as seen on the screenshot below. We use inline search instead of the Oracle default "List of values text field with search" as the default field type limits displayed results to 10.
