I am trying to run the batch process "Generate Event-Driven Awards Batch process" but it does not pick any employees.

I created an anniversary award program so that any employee whose hire date is 5 years ago should be identified and celebrated. When I run this job today, system will pick today's run date 19-Jun then it will try to find any employee whose hire is date 5 years ago. Similarly if i run this batch tomorrow it will try to find employees whose hire date is 5 years from 20-June. Is this understanding correct ?

what is the issue and why the system does not find any employees ?
