Update employee hire date in Fusion HCM application - REST API

Hi Folks, I've loaded employees into HCM system using HDL and rest APIs. However, during the process, employees were created with the system date instead of intended effective start date provided in the file. Now I need to update the hire date using REST APIs. Please advice if this is possible, and if so, which API or approach should be used?
